Everything is green
Feb 27th, 2010 by marlinex
We’re heading to a retirement party in Rohnert Park and seeing how green and lush everything is down the 80 corridor. Scary clouds though!

In Memory of Blauser
Feb 22nd, 2010 by marlinex

On February 22, 2003, we said goodbye to the original Happy Pitbull, Blauser.  Blauser was Mike’s dog when Mike and I first met in 1996.  I was really worried the first time I met him, because I was never really a dog person. I wasn’t sure he would like me.  But Blauser really liked EVERYONE (and anyone).

Blauser was really the first dog I ever had (not counting the chihuahua, Queenie, we had when I was a baby), and he was the most loyal, mellow, loving dog ever.  Here he is back in 1998 when little Fifi was a puppy.  They were really best friends.  And why not?  Blauser listened to all of my problems, he comforted me when I was sad.  He made me laugh, and he certainly left Fifi push him around, turning her into the queen of our house.

Blauser was 15 years old when we had to make the decision to let him go.  The old guy had been through a lot, and it was time. We remember him always, but on this anniversary, we share our memory the boy.  He was a good doggy.  We miss him lots.

Teaching about accessibility - via @saraheborne
Feb 14th, 2010 by marlinex

Sarah is one of my go-to peeps in the Government 2.0 community for all things accessibility. This is a great piece about the lengths that Yahoo is going through to make sure their engineers understand the importance of providing accessible services for all their users. It would be great to have our designers and developers get some context like this as well.

Insane Mardi Gras lobster feed at Cuvaison
Feb 13th, 2010 by marlinex
It’s had to get the idea of scale on this, but we were in the cave at Cuvaison for this event with about 75 people and the poured out these giant pots full of lobster, shrimp, corn, sausage, artichokes, onion, garlic, and probably more. Pretty messy, but tasty!

Kid art from Sofie!
Feb 6th, 2010 by marlinex
My niece Sofie draws cats and spiders. I think this is a cat with a magic wand. Not too shabby for 3!!! It’s proudly hanging in my office at home. Thanks Sofie-king!
